Today,
Emaan is in a pleasant mood, little excited, very hopeful and a bit nervous,
too. Unlike, usual days when he gets up late in the morning and behaves like a lazy
lad, he got up earlier than his usual time. Despite not sleeping for 8 hours (and
getting up so many times during the night) there is no sign of any sort of weariness
on his face. Instead his face is glimmering, may be because of anticipation!
He
greeted his mom, “A very good morning” with a subtle mysterious smile on his
face. With dad too, he gently explained why he would do tomorrow, something
he(father) had asked to be done today. Not convinced by the explanation, his
father took a good look at Emaan for his gentle demeanour. He agreed but was trying
to figure out if he is his same son.
Emaan’s
mom could hear Emaan murmuring a song in the bathroom. After coming out of the
bathroom, while getting ready, he enthusiastically asked “How are you, my sweet
little sister?” Emaan’s sister gave a subtle gape of the jaw, stared at him for
a moment and with a cunning smile replied, “I am fine. You seem to be very
happy today. Anything special?”
Emaan got
self-conscious as if he had been caught and tried to steer away the
conversation, “No, no…nothing special. I am going to college after many days.
So, just a little excited. Nothing much.”
Sisters are
the best detective in the family especially when it comes to investigating
their brothers. She had also noticed Emaan constantly fidgeting with his mobile
and could feel he is hiding something but being younger to Emaan, she did not
probe much.
Emaan
wears his blue jeans and a smart looking half-sleeve grey shirt with white
vertical stripes. He leaves the first button of his shirt open decently revealing
a glance of his young but chiselled bare chest. He folds his half sleeves even
further to display his toned biceps.
He has
always been cautious about how he looks especially in college. After all, he
had been a model and participated in fashion shows. And walking shirtless on
the ramp in his last(graduation) year’s fashion show earned him a decent fan
following.
Emaan
picks up his bike keys, takes his helmet from the table (though he never wears
it as it messes up his hair) and while stepping out of his house on the second
floor says, “Mom, I am going to college and will be back in few hours.”
“Beta,
will you have lunch at home?”, asked his mom to ensure she makes the
arrangement.
Emaan
replied, “Mostly I’ll eat in the college cafeteria. I just love the Paneer Makkhani
there. But anyways, call me up during lunch and I’ll confirm to you.”
Youngsters
these days can’t plan anything in advance. Not even their lunch!
Emaan
sits on his bike, keeps the helmet on the fuel tank. He pulls up the bike stand,
takes his aviator sunglasses out of his college bag and while wearing it with
style, he notices a young seemingly beautiful girl(teenager) bashfully glancing
at him. Though adoring her like any youngster would, he behaves as if he is
unaware of it, kick starts his bike and leaves for college.
